The Designer
In the short while that Daniel Vosovic has been on the fashion main stage, he already has endeavored a variety of opportunities that often take years to accomplish. Today, Daniel’s focus is heading his own eponymous New York-based label; yet his journey thus far is peppered with exciting experiences that have stretched and shaped Daniel into the refined and thoughtful designer for which he is celebrated.
The Michigan native, FIT graduate began his career in the studio of legendary Li Edelkoort, the showrooms of Ittierre/Gorland, and has tackled the many facets of the industry since. Known in the popular culture realm for his stint on the second season of Project Runway, Daniel’s elegant taste and affable personality quickly landed him as the show’s lead finalist and most popular contestant. Walking away from the Bravo Series with a New York Fashion Week show beneath his feet, Daniel continued to expand his design expertise by working within multiple New York design houses, as well as engaging in art directing, celebrity dressing and custom design projects. One such project is the capsule collection of clothes, accessories and staff uniforms for the urban and modern hotel brand, NYLO hotels, that reflects Daniel’s sophisticated and edgy aesthetic.
Ever willing to learn in new ways, Daniel likewise undertook the task of authoring and curating the book "Fashion Inside Out." The glossy tome unfolds the fashion design process from start to finish through striking photographs and informative interviews with Diane von Furstenberg, Todd Oldham, Tim Gunn (who penned the forward), Nina Garcia and other leading fashion experts that detail the inner workings of the complex industry. Like all of Daniel’s projects, the book was critically and popularly received with praise and enthusiasm.
With all of these experiences wrapped under his belt, Daniel felt the time was right to launch his own collection- which, in February 2010, he did. The collection is a culmination of Daniel’s signature innovative silhouettes and evocative finesse.
